The Feline Gastrointestinal 5-Plex Pathogen qPCR Detection Kit (FVPC501) is an all-in-one multiplex real-time PCR panel designed for rapid identification of 5 major feline enteric pathogens: Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV), Feline Coronavirus (FCoV ), Giardia lamblia , Tritrichomonas foetus , and Cryptosporidium spp.

Utilizing advance lyophilization (freeze-drying) technology, all detection reagents are stabilized in solid pellets. This allows room temperature transit and storage (0–20°C) for 12 months, delivering fast results from anal swab samples.

Feline Gastrointestinal PCR Kit

Key Features & Benefits

  • 5-in-1 Enteric Screening: Detects viral and protozoan intestinal pathogens      simultaneously.

  • Room Temperature Storage: Lyophilized reagents remain stable at 0–20°C      for up to 12 months.

  • Fast Anal Swab Extraction: Simple 2-step extraction protocol eliminates      lengthy nucleic acid isolation steps.

  • 10 Tests/Kit Pack Size: Economical multi-test specification for research      laboratories and breeding facilities.

  • High Specificity: Prevents cross-reactivity between viral DNA/RNA and parasitic      protozoa targets.

Sample Preparation & Rapid Extraction Protocol

  1. Sample Collection: Collect an anal sample using a clean flocked anal swab.

  2. Sample Lysis: Snap the swab head off into a tube of Lysis Buffer. Vortex      for 30 seconds and gently flick/centrifuge liquid to the bottom.

  3. Template Preparation: Pipette 20 µL of lysed liquid into a tube of      Reconstitution Buffer. Vortex for 10 seconds and flick down.      Use this solution as the amplification template.

Assay Procedure

  1. Reconstitution:Add 20 µL of the prepared template into 1 tube of Lyophilized  Reagent.

  2. Cap & Mix: Cap with the 8-Strip Tube Cap, vortex for 10 seconds,      and briefly centrifuge to drive liquid to the tube bottom and remove      bubbles.

  3. Loading: Place reaction tubes into the qPCR instrument with the black dot   mark facing left.

  4. Run Program: Choose the "FPV / FCoV / Giardia / T.foetus /   Cryptosporidium" program and initiate.

Result Interpretation

Adjust baseline and fluorescence threshold line above negative control limits. A valid positive curve shows an obvious sigmoidal shape.

  • Positive Result (+): Test sample Ct value ≤ 36.0.

  • Negative Result (-): Test sample Ct value > 36.0 or no Ct      value.

Precautions & Safety Handling

  1. Research Use Only (RUO): Strictly for scientific research purposes.

  2. Contamination Avoidance: Never re-open PCR tube caps post-amplification.

  3. Workstation Sanitation: Disinfect surfaces with 10% bleach, 75% ethanol, or      UV lighting.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: Why is testing for protozoa like Tritrichomonas foetus and Giardia important alongside FPV?

A1: Feline chronic diarrhea can stem from viral infections or protozoan parasites with identical symptoms. FVPC501 screens both viral and parasitic pathogens at once, saving diagnostic time.
