The Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV) qPCR Detection Kit is a highly sensitive, specific, and rapid real-time PCR assay designed for the qualitative detection of Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV) nucleic acid in feline samples.
Utilizing innovative lyophilization (freeze-drying) technology, all PCR reaction components—including DNA polymerase, specific primers, fluorescent probes, and dNTPs—are pre-mixed and dried in single-reaction tubes. This eliminates complex pipetting steps, reduces cross-contamination risks, and enables room temperature transport and storage (0–20°C) without requiring cold-chain logistics.

Room Temperature Stability: Freeze-dried formulation allows shipping and storage at 0–20°C for up to 12 months.
Streamlined Workflow: Pre-dispensed reagents require only template addition, significantly reducing hands-on preparation time.
Rapid Turnaround: Ultra-fast protocol provides actionable qPCR results in under 40 minutes.
Sample Flexibility: Optimized for feline anal swab samples using a fast nucleic acid extraction protocol.
High Specificity & Sensitivity: Engineered with high-efficiency Taq DNA Polymerase to deliver reliable target amplification without non-specific binding.
Component | Quantity | Description |
Lysis Buffer | 5 Tubes | Rapid sample lysis buffer for swab processing |
Reconstitution Buffer | 5 Tubes | Buffer for sample template neutralization |
Lyophilized Reagents | 5 Pouches | Pre-mixed freeze-dried PCR reaction mix |
8-Strip Caps | 1 Pouch | Optical tube caps for PCR sealing |
Sample Collection: Collect sample using a standard flocked anal swab from the feline subject.
Lysis Step: Insert the swab head into a tube of Lysis Buffer. Vortex thoroughly for 30 seconds, then flick or briefly spin to collect liquid at the bottom.
Neutralization & Template Preparation: Transfer 20 µL of the lysed sample into a tube of Reconstitution Buffer. Vortex for 10 seconds and flick to collect liquid. The resulting mixture is ready for amplification as the nucleic acid template.
Reconstitute Lyophilized Mix: Take 1 tube of Lyophilized Reagent and directly add 20 µL of the prepared nucleic acid template.
Mix & Cap: Seal tightly with an 8-Strip Cap, vortex for 10 seconds, and centrifuge briefly to drop all liquid to the bottom and remove any air bubbles.
Instrument Loading: Load the tube strip into the qPCR instrument (Ensure proper tube orientation as directed by instrument instructions).
Program Selection: Select the pre-configured program for Feline Panleukopenia and initiate the run.

Stage | Temperature | Duration | Cycles | Signal Acquisition |
Stage 1 (Reverse Transcription / Activation) | 55°C | 5 min | 1 | Off |
Stage 2 (Initial Denaturation) | 95°C | 2 min | 1 | Off |
Stage 3 (PCR Amplification) | 95°C
58°C | 10 sec
15 sec | 40 | Off
On (FAM / Channel 1) |
After the run completion, baseline and fluorescence threshold parameters should be adjusted based on control performance:
Positive Result (+): Typical sigmoidal/S-shaped amplification curve with a cycle threshold value Ct ≤ 36.0.
Negative Result (-): No amplification curve or Ct > 36.0.
For Research Use Only (RUO): Not for use in clinical diagnostic procedures or human medical applications.
Laboratory Separation: Perform template preparation and PCR setup in separate, clean laboratory zones to minimize contamination risk.
Post-PCR Management: Never open PCR tubes after amplification. Dispose of used reaction tubes in dedicated biohazard waste.
Decontamination: Periodically clean lab benches, equipment, and pipettes with 10% bleach, 75% ethanol, or UV radiation.

Q1: Can this kit be stored at standard freezer temperatures (-20°C)?
A1: Yes. While the kit is engineered and validated for room temperature storage (0–20°C), storing at lower temperatures (-20°C or 4°C) will not negatively affect product performance or shelf life.
Q2: What is the main advantage of freeze-dried / lyophilized PCR kits?
A2: Lyophilized kits contain all necessary PCR components pre-mixed and stabilized in a solid matrix. They eliminate freeze-thaw degradation, minimize human error during liquid handling, and cut shipping costs by removing cold-chain requirements.
